You may not have guessed it, but the special election for U.S. Senate in Mississippi is one of the closest races this November.

In the past, Democrats have written off Mississippi as "too red" to win -- but not this year. Ronnie Musgrove, a former Governor who helped create over 52,000 new jobs and brought more than $14 billion in new investments to Mississippi, is running a strong campaign against incumbent Republican Senator Roger Wicker.  In fact, recent polls show the race to be a virtual tie.

This week, Ronnie released a powerful new ad that tells his moving personal story and will connect with thousands of Mississippi voters, but he needs our help to keep it on the air.

Ronnie's campaign has been an uphill battle from the beginning. Roger Wicker is a well-funded opponent and is outspending Ronnie's campaign across the state. Even worse, the right-wing Governor and leadership in Mississippi tried to bury this race on the bottom of the ballot -- illegally -- to make it harder for people to vote for Ronnie.

Thankfully, the right-wing's dirty campaign tactic was overruled by a county circuit court -- but Gov. Haley Barbour is now asking the Mississippi Supreme Court to take his side in the dispute over the ballot placement, and many believe the Republican-leaning court will decide the case on partisan lines, rather than on the law.
